The Way to your Heart

C32 Heart's Desire
Funny I never realised how many of my blocks were named after foods. I think I must be a male in disguise as the old saying 'a way to a man's heart is through his stomach' definitely applies to me.

Paul says he still remembers the first time I visited him at his place. We lived about five hours apart at the time and I arrived one Friday night. He had prepared a roast lamb and he said as he watched me devour the lot it reminded him of his father... who also was another example of a person who enjoyed his food:0
C31 Sugar & Spice
C30 Marmalade
I still love food particularly sweets and yesterday made a fantastic apple and ginger marmalade... I wonder which marmalade I had made when I named this block. Mind you the block must have been made around 2009 as that was the year I discovered when a person makes jam/marmalade there is no need to make 100+ jars of it. My mum only ever made plum or nectarine jam and never in quantities less than 100!!!

Trying to Catch Up

C30 History Repeats
Carol has been really busy lately, in between what must seem like three thousand family commitments and MANY MANY miles in the car. However she has managed to put together some more lovely blocks and here are just a few of them. Being back at work means I am slower with photoshopping and uploading them but hopefully I will catch up this weekend.
C30 Stories Entwined
These three blocks come from Collection 30. It won't be long before she is actually joining them all and making her own quilt...
Oh I had better get going on drawing up the designs for Collection 60. Although there were only 59 collections in the original quilt an alternative king size layout needs 62 and I have promised Carol to send her any new blocks I designed so that she could incorporate them into her quilt.
C30 Winter Grass
Where did these names come from?

History Repeats was made after a series of things going wrong...over and over again... you would think I would have learnt from the first mistake :(

Stories Entwined I felt that the separate sections looked as thought they had taken something from the sections beside and so they were entwined together

The fabrics used in Winter Grass suggested that title.

Although Carol has been very busy lately and had to spend several weeks away from home she has managed to finish so delightful blocks.

C29 Cat's Eyes

Here we see her blocks from Collection 29 and you have to admit these are definitely going to make a colourful quilt.
Check out her fabric choice and you will find some delightful choices that surprise you and are so appropriate for the titles:)

Carol Le Maitre with Collection 28

C28 Follow The Leader
Carol has been very busy lately with her husband having to go to hospital and this meant a six week stay as the hospital was too far for her to visit otherwise. One of the downsides of living in the country is the lack of higher end medical services.
Carol prepared some hand sewing for her six week 'vacation' and here we see some of her blocks.
As always a wonderful array of colours and prints.
Don't you love the paw prints in Run Spot Run?
